Col has started up a new initiative, A COL a Watch Scheme for your home and neighborhood, free of charge

The COL Scheme is free to all COL users, and the local Police. COL scheme has a free communication message board for each group where scheme members can compare notes and send messages to each other.

The COL scheme is an addition to Crime-on-line and its www.communityonline.info section. The COL watch scheme is not a replacement to current home watch schemes or neighbourhood watch schemes, but will be a useful addition with its communication capabilities.

You could be able to view messages from the Police in the community section of COL, "www.communityonline.info" see ads for missing pets, post your own ad if your pet goes missing, and post your own crime related tips to the local Police and much much more.

The free COL watch scheme is open in many countries such as the UK, Ireland, USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Denmark, India and Iceland

If you want to use the Police tips and possibly receive warnings from the Police then you need to talk to your local police liason officer and tell him that you want to use COL as the medium, where he can post messages to your group and view crime related tips from your group as well.

The Police access allows for free posting of missing persons with photos, requests for a vitness to an accident or a crime in your area and any other messages the local Police would like to send across to your watch team. All messages from the Police come to the community area of COL in your town, also to your email and in extreme cases such as a "child is missing" message, it will come to your mobile phone with a photo if your phone is MMS enabled.
