Stolen goods seized in raids Twenty one people have been arrested and an estimated £325,000 worth of property has been recovered in an operation to deter people from handling stolen goods. More than 100 police officers were involved in Operation Safer Homes where a number of raids were carried out on premises in Birmingham and the Black Country. In one of the raids officers from Digbeth in Birmingham recovered £200,000 worth of stolen car engines. Laptops worth £10,000 and computer hard drives were also seized in a raid on premises in Erdington. Two men have been arrested in connection with the raids, one has been bailed pending further inquiries and the other is helping police with their inquiries.
